Ariana Grande might just be a Disney princess!

However, the 31-year-old star, who has garnered Oscar buzz for her role in the 2024 film, Wicked, revealed that her casting in the live-action movie of Hercules, as Megara has “never been an actual discussion.”

Fans of the 1997 animation, linked the Thank U, Next singer to the Theban princess of the movie for the upcoming movie, leaving her “flattered” but believes her Nickelodeon’s former Victorious co-star, Elizabeth Gillies would be better suited for the role.

In a conversation with Variety’s Award Circuit podcast, the pop star and actress said, “It’s really funny, because I grew up singing the Muses’ parts. I have seen some of that, but it’s never been an actual discussion.

“As much as I really love transforming for a role – and I do love the idea of, you know, a darker sort of role like Megara,” Grande added.

Mentioning her close friend, the Dynasty actress, Grande told the outlet, “I do think that I would be remiss if I didn’t say this, I think Gillies should be Megara. Do you know my friend Liz Gillies, she’s brilliant. Oh god, that would be a fantastic role for her.”

She also proceeded to joke how she should be considered for the role of Phil, the half-man, half-goat, grumpy Satyr, who was originally portrayed by Danny DeVito in 1997.

“That’s how I honestly feel. I’m very flattered. You know what? I should play the Danny DeVito role,” Ariana Grande playfully teased.
