Pamela Anderson shares two cents over Oscar snub for 'The Last Showgirl'

Pamela Anderson was left out of the Academy Award nominations 2025, which were announced on Thursday.

The Oscar best nomination includes The Substance’s Demi Moore, Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, I'm Still Here actress Fernanda Torres, Emilia Pérez’s Karla Sofía Gascón and Anora star Mikey Madison.

In an interview with Elle, she candidly talked about her emotions after not being nominated for the Oscar for The Last Showgirl.

“Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected,” the Baywatch actress began by saying. “Doing the work is the win.”

The erotic drama film was about a 57-year-old showgirl Shelly, portrayed by Anderson, working at a casino resort which will close in two weeks due to declining ticket sales.

“That’s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season.” Anderson continued. “But it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus.”

The Hollywood actress has earned a 'female actor in a leading role nomination' for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globes and Gotham Awards 2025.

Before concluding, she shared, “I couldn’t imagine [it] anyway. I’m happy for the SAG nomination, that’s [voted on by] your peers. That’s really cool. This has been a long road promoting this film.”

The winners for 97th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are scheduled to be announced live on ABC news on Sunday March 02, 2025.
