Jamie Foxx dishes on 'hard time' while filming for Leonardo DiCaprio

Jamie Foxx has opened up about a hard time he faced while working with Leonardo DiCaprio for Django Unchained.

While chatting with Vanity, he candidly shared about his filming experience with the Titanic actor.

Referring to the western action movie 2012, the Back In Action actor began by saying, “The subject matter. The N-word, specifically.”

Recalling the script's racial slurs dialogue, the American actor continued, “Leo had a hard time saying the N-word. We’re doing a read and Leo says, ‘Hey, guys. Cut! I just can’t do this.”

“This is not me.’ Samuel L. Jackson goes, ‘Say that s***, m***********! It’s just another Tuesday. F*** them,’” he added.

Foxx starred in Django Unchained, which story based on African slavery, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Foxx, and Quentin Tarantino.

“I told Leo that in slavery days we would never talk to each other,” he told the outlet an advice he had given to his costar. “I’m not your friend. I’m not Jamie Foxx. I’m Django.”

“And I told him, you won’t really be able to play that character until you understand what slavery is about. It was tough. it was a horrific.”

Before concluding, the Oscar winner shared the outcome of his advice by saying, “So the next day I see Leo and I say what’s up to him. He don’t speak to me. He’s ready. Everybody started digging in.”
