LAHORE: Measles claimed three more lives one in Mayo hospital and two in Children hospital on Monday rising the total deaths to 91 in the province.
According to health department officials, most of the victims were belonged to Lahore, Gujranwala, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan,Kasur and Sialkot districts.
As many as 120 new cases of measles were reported from Punjab including 60 from Lahore hospitals increasing the total number of cases to 12,985 during the last five months.
Meanwhile, Director General Health Services Punjab Dr Tanveer Ahmed said that during investigation it was found that a majority of deaths in Lahore were caused by severe pneumonia and delay in reaching hospitals.
