KARACHI: Rangers arrested ten target killers during search operations carried out in several of the city on Saturday.

A spokesman for the paramilitary force said three of the arrested target killers were affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi movement (MQM) and four belonged to outlawed religious organisations. Three are members of the MQM-Haqiqi group.

The spokesman further said Nabeel who is affiliated with the MQM was arrested during an exchange of fire in which Rangers personnel Tariq was injured.

The arrested target killers will be presented in an anti-terrorism court, the Rangers spokesman added.

Eight arrested for forcibly closing shops

Carrying out operations in Orangi Town, Karimabad, Garden and Liaquatabad, Rangers arrested eight people accused of forcibly shutting down shops in the city.

According to the Rangers spokesman, the eight accused are members of the MQM.
