Multiple online posts are sharing a fraudulent link claiming that by registering on the website, a person can receive Rs20,000 immediately under the government’s Ehsaas Rashan Program.
The posts also allege that the cash will be disbursed to nearly a million people in 2025.
This claim is false.
On March 6, a Facebook user shared a link — https://rashan.bh59.buzz/?xt=821 — encouraging Pakistani citizens earning less than Rs30,000 a month to register through it.
The post claimed that anyone providing their name, income, and other personal details would receive Rs20,000 instantly under the Ehsaas Rashan Program.
“Applications are now open for the Ehsaas Rashan Program 2025,” read the post. “Over 960,000 individuals will receive Rs20,000 through the Program to help improve their well-being,” stated the post.
The link has gone viral across Facebook, WhatsApp, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram.
Digital experts and an independent verification by Geo Fact Check confirm that the link is fake.
Anees Qureshi, an open-source intelligence analyst at Islamabad-based research group Bytes for All (B4A), explained that the webpage is hosted on a .buzz domain – a domain commonly used for “malicious activities like traffic backlink spam and phishing.”
“These websites lure netizens from social media by pretending to offer official government sche]mes,” Qureshi told Geo Fact Check. “They usually ask users to share personal information or fill out forms in exchange for guaranteed financial support.”
He warned people to only rely on official government websites, which use .gov.pk domains.
Asif Iqbal, a digital adviser at the German development agency GIZ, also confirmed this. “Such links are always suspicious. Most scammers use them to trick people into giving away personal data,” he said over the phone.
Geo Fact Check also submitted test information on the website. The form requested more personal details and then redirected to another page asking users to share the post with 15 friends in order to proceed. This further corroborated what the digital experts have said about the link being fraudulent.
The original Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Program, which provided subsidies to low-income households, was launched by the then government in 2021.
Verdict: The link being circulated is fake and not associated with any official government program. Digital experts confirm it is hosted on a domain used for phishing.
