Nisar stresses need to crackdown on financiers of terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has stressed on the need to crackdown on financiers of terrorism in Pakistan.

Presiding over a meeting here on Monday, Nisar said it was essential that terror financing be stopped for this evil to be uprooted from its root. “This is difficult but not impossible,” Nisar added.

During the meeting details of doubtful bank accounts were presented by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The interior minister directed FIA and the provincial anti-terrorism departments to work with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) so immediate action can be taken against financiers of terrorism.

Nisar has also called for a mechanism to be devised along with the SBP for identification of doubtful bank accounts.
