KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) on Wednesday ended higher as its benchmark 100-Index breached an important psychological barrier of 23,300 points to close at 23312.78 mark.
The KSE-100 index closed 27.97 points high while 30-Index increased by 10.54 points to close at 18162.78 points.
Out of total 354 active scrips, 160 moved up, 172 went down, while 22 remained unchanged.
Wyeth Pak Ltd closed higher by Rs80 to close at Rs1830 while Siemens Pakistan by Rs45.30 to finish up at Rs951.43.
The stocks of Refhan Maize and Exide (Pak) lost Rs45 and Rs19.35 to close at Rs5125 and Rs367.79 respectively.
Most active trading of 15262500, 13875500 and 95577000 shares was recorded in PTCL, National Bank, and Fauji Cement respectively.
Total market turnover remained at 141252350 as compared to previous 202237850 shares.
In future contracts the market's total turnover was recorded at 20050060 as compared to previous 28154715 shares. (APP)
