ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Friday that military and diplomatic level talks were underway with India.

In a statement, the foreign office expressed Pakistan’s willingness to purse talks with its South Asian neighbour through all channels. According to the ministry’s spokesman, Pakistan had concerns regarding the situation at the LoC, but wanted to resolve differences through dialogue with India.

Relations between the two countries have deteriorated after India accused the Pakistan army of killing five Indian soldiers at the Line of Control (LoC). The allegation was strongly denied by Pakistan.

Following the incident, India has opened unprovoked fire along several points of the LoC, triggering retaliation from Pakistan.
