LAHORE: Geo News has uncovered a torture cell of the Ghaziabad police station in the Harbanspura area of the city.

A fourteen-year-old kept in the cell was being tortured by policemen in civilian clothing. When the team from Geo News arrived at the location of the torture cell, the policemen fled from the scene.

Geo News correspondent Ahmed Faraz said the 14-year-old bound by chains was being kept illegally in the torture cell. The boy said he had been detained for the last six days after he presented himself at the Ghaziabad police station for being a suspect in a theft case. Pleading his innocence he added that his father, uncle, brother and a friend were also detained and brought to the torture cell, however they had disappeared last night.

The local police said that action would be taken against those behind the torture cell. The residents of the area told Geo News that police would unlawfully detain suspects and take them from the police station to the torture cell.
