KARACHI: Fifteen more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Saturday, increasing the patient toll TO 4414 in 2013, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.

He said that a total of 5,058 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 4,414 were detected in Karachi and 644 in rest of Sindh province. He said 15 dengue cases were reported late from hospitals.

He said total 31 dengue fever patients died across the province in this year so far, out of which 25 in Karachi, three in Hyderabad and one each in Mirpurkhas, Thatta and Larkana.

He said 16 more dengue viral fever cases were reported across the province (7 inpatient & 9 OPD cases) out of which 15 in Karachi, while one case was detected in Hyderabad.

He further informed that 577 cases were detected in Hyderabad, 24 in Mirpurkhas, 10 in Jamshoro, seven in Thatta, four each in Sukkur and Shikarpur; three in Larkana, two each in Kambar, Sanghar; Dadu and Kashmore and one each in Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Tharparkar, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Umerkot since January 2013.
