Police arrest 177 criminals in 24 hours

KARACHI: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested 177 criminals in raids and encounters in several parts of the city during 24 hours.

According to Karachi police spokesman Atiq Shaikh, the criminals were arrested in 98 raids while three encounters took place across the city.

He said that 89 accused of murder cases were apprehended while 29 absconders were also held during raids.

The police also arrested 15 accused under Narcotics Act three under Terrorism Act and two kidnappers while 12 suspected were also booked in other criminal activities.

Moreover 29 arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of detained criminals. (PPI)
