ISLAMABAD: There has been a major shakeup in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as the governing board has been dissolved and chairman Zaka Ashraf sacked.
Prime Minister Nawaz who is also the PCB patron-in-chief, gave approval for an amendment to a clause in the board’s constitution. After the approval of this clause, the cricket board’s governing body stood dissolved and the chairman sacked.
The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination issued a notification in this regard on Monday.
To run the affairs of the PCB, an eight-member management committee has been formed which appointed Najam Sethi chairman.
Shehriyar Khan, Najam Sethi, Zaheer Abbas, Navid Akram, Shakil Shaikh, Iqbal Qasim, Yousuf Khokhar, Amir Tariq Zaman are included in the committee.
Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf was reinstated as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on 15 January.
Zaka Ashraf had filed an intra court appeal against his dismissal from the post of chairman PCB.
Speaking with reporters Ashraf said he was yet to see the notification.
"If I am removed I will consult my lawyers to decide the course of action."
