MQM apprises Nisar of problems

KARACHI: A Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation met Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan here on Thursday.

Speaking to media after the meeting, senior MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said they had informed the interior minister about the brutal torture on MQM workers by law enforcement agencies.

He said: “We asked Chaudhry Nisar the targeted operation should be carried out within the ambit of the constitution and law.”

Siddiqui said MQM workers were being kidnapped by personnel in plain clothes, using vehicles with no registration numbers.

He said MQM would not have any problem if criminal elements were arrested and punished. The MQM leader said they were assured by interior minister that justice would be provided to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

He told media that his party would end protest after its problems were resolved.
