Abu Dhabi: Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered a comprehensive victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beating them by 6-wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) season 7 encounter at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium here on Saturday.
After winning the toss, RR invited RCB to bat first and wrapped up their innings for 70 runs in just 15 overs. Later, Shane Watson-led team clinched victory in 13 overs after losing 4 wickets.
Talented spinner Pravin Tambe (4-20) along with Australian pacer Kane Richardson (2-18) bowled magnificent spells to kick RCB in back-foot.
Rajasthan had little trouble chasing down the meagre score as they strolled to 71 for four in 13 overs.
RR's opener Ajinkya Rahane (23) and Shane Watson (24) took their team to victory.
Earlier, only three Bangalore batsmen registered double figure scores in a hapless performance with extras (4) being the fifth highest scorer.
Bangalore captain Virat Kohli top scored with 21 off 25 balls as rest of the top and middle-order collapsed around him.
Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc (18) and West Indies' Ravi Rampaul (13) were the only other to get in to double figures.
PV Tambe was declared player of the match.
