KARACHI: Pakistan’s ace off-spinner Saeed Ajmal captured six wickets for Worcestershire against Essex on the second day of their four-day County Cricket Championship Division-II match in Worcester on Monday.
Saeed, 36, grabbed six wickets for 75 in his 26.2 testing overs to help his side dismiss Essex for 203 in their first innings in reply to Worcestershire’s first innings total of 291 at County Ground, New Road.
At stumps, Worcestershire were also struggling in their second innings at a precarious 82-6 in 27.1 overs. Paceman Matt Salisbury and England Test left-arm orthodox spinner Monty Panesar claimed three wickets apiece.
Saeed, a veteran of 33 Tests and 110 One-day Internationals, is on a short stint with Worcestershire before he joins Pakistan team for the tour of Sri Lanka that is scheduled to start on Aug 2. (APP)
