PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Saturday presented Rs404.8 billion budget for 2014-15.

The provincial Minister for Finance Sirajul Haq presented the budget at KP Assembly amid protest from opposition benches.

Below are the salient features of KP budget 2014-15:

Rs.139.80 billion allocated for Annual Development Program.

Ten percent increase in the salaries of the government employees.

Ten percent increase in pension of the retired government employees.

Twenty percent increase in medical and five percent in conveyance allowance of government employees from Grade 1-15 besides a proposal for one premature increment of government employees from Grade 1-4.

As many as 16,000 clerical staff has been upgraded.

Minimum pension is increased from Rs 5000 to Rs 6000 while elderly allowance of retired officers BPS Grade 20 and above was fixed at Rs 12,000.

Minimum wage increased to Rs 12000 per month.

Rs 6 billion subsidy under Ghee-Flour Package for low income groups and poor families.

Rs 105 billion for provincial development program for 1250 developmental projects.

Rs 111 billion allocated for education construction of 660 primary schools, 170 IT laboratories and building of sub campus of UET Peshawar at Upper Dir announced.

Establishment of Education City in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Expansion of CM Education Endowment Fund and construction of seven new colleges and two home economics colleges announced.

Rs 50 million for Youth IT Training Program allocated.

Rehabilitation of 17 Archeological centres.

Construction of Sports complex at Charsadda and Swabi Establishment of gymnasium at Abbottabad sports academies in KP.

Allocation of Rs. 8.28 billion for 93 health projects.

Establishment of medical colleges in Nowshera and Taimergrah, Launching of Safe City Project for Peshawar construction of model police station announced.

Establishment of counter terrorism department and School of Intelligence and Investigation announced.

Mass transit schemes for Peshawar announced.
