RAWALPINDI: Army Cobra gunship helicopters destroyed three terrorist hideouts in Qutub Khel area on the outskirts of Miranshah, North Waziristan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing of the Pakistan Army the strike took place Friday morning in which 12 terrorists were killed. The “integrated action” included gunship helicopters, artillery and snipers.
The ISPR adds, that a “huge cache of arms and ammunition was also destroyed” in the strike.
Meanwhile, six attempts by terrorists to flee the area cordoned by the armed forces were foiled last night. The ISPR press release adds, that 24 terrorists trying to flee in the guise of Internally Displaced People (IDP’s) were apprehended at various checkpoints in Mirali and Miranshah.
IDP, Evacuation & Registration
The ISPR statement adds, that 92 individuals have been registered at the Bakkakhel, Bannu IDP camp while 400 families left North Waziristan for Afghanistan via the Ghullam Khan border village.
To assist with registration of IDP’s Lady Police personnel, mobile NADRA vans and smart card vans have been placed at the Saidgai IDP registration point.
