NEW DELHI: Pakistani Ambassador in India, Abdul Basit on Saturday said it was the responsibility of both the countries to establish such relations for the coming generations that are based on mutual respect and shared interests.

“It is high time the two nations moved forward by putting the past behind,” Abdul Basit said while addressing a ceremony attended by Pakistan’s business delegations.

He said Pakistan and India will remain neighbours in all kinds of circumstances. Their status of being neighbours cannot be changed, he added.

The Ambassador said if they have no other choice but to co-exist then why not live like friendly and amicable neighbours.
