BAHAWALPUR: PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif said if consultations on the caretaker setup were not meaningful the 20th constitutional amendment would not be approved, Geo News reported.

He was talking to reporters here today. The PMl-N chief noted that their demand for an independent election commission is justified and demanded purposeful consultations not like the ones held in the past.

Nawaz said PML-N has not backtracked on the memogate scandal, adding that we wanted to expose the ones behind the conspiracy. "Our petitioners attend every hearing of the case," he said.

Replying to a question regarding Bahawalpur, Nawaz said it should be made a separate province. "PM Gilani's statement with respect to this matter may be his personal opinion."
