Senate polls: BHC accepts plea of Aslam Bhootani

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has accepted a petition by Balochistan Assembly Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani against a PML-Q MPA Pir Abdul Qadir Gilani, Geo News reported.

Lawyer Baz Mohammad Kakar argued that the MPA voted for the PPP candidate in Senate elections after getting funds for his constituency, which is illegal.

The petitioner also prayed to the court to freeze the funds and cancel his assembly membership.

A bench comprising BHC Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Qadir Mengal issued notices for March 12 and ordered Chief Secretary Balochistan to not to release funds.
