KARACHI: A blaze swept through a used clothes bazaar in Lyari's Agra Taj Colony on Wednesday, damaging four shops and destroying millions of rupees worth of merchandise.

Firefighters using six fire tenders and a water bowser were quick on the spot and were able to extinguish the flames within an hour, but not before the fire had eaten up stored stock and significantly damaged at least four shops.

Two go-downs storing used winter clothes were also damaged by the flames, which fire brigade officials said was caused due to an electrical short circuit.
