SADIQABAD: According to Pakistan Railways, Karachi-bound Khyber Mail is finally back on the track after engineers brought its locomotive back to running condition, but unfortunately the passengers of Jaafar Express were yet not out of their misery, Geo News reported.

Earlier, the up and down railway traffic was suspended for over three hours after the engines of Jaafar Express and Khyber Express broke down at Adam Sahaba railway station near Sadiqabad.

As both the trains stood still in their tracks, other trains had to stop at different railway stations, which brought all the up and down traffic to a halt for several hours.

Already late by more than thirty hours, protesting this added agonizing delay and that too in the holy month of Ramadan, the agitated passengers blocked the way of a goods train and chanted slogans against the government.

It is pertinent to mention that Khyber Mail was nearly one-and-a-half day late when its engine gave up on its passengers near Sadiqabad.

When contacted, the railway authorities said that the trains could be put back on the track only after they have arranged for substitute locomotives.
