LAHORE: Deputy Prime Minister, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi Sunday accused Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharfi of staging a drama on the issue of energy crisis.
Addressing a press conference here at State Guest House, Ch Pervez Elahi said had the Punjab government adopted the formula put forth by Chaudhry Shaujaat Hussain to resolve electricity crisis and still had to face power crisis, then he (Elahi) himself would have joined the protest against loadshedding.
He accused Shahbaz Sharif of patronizing protest demonstrations and riots in the Punjab whereby houses are attacked and public/private property is damaged.
"I challenge the self-proclaimed Khadim-e-Alla to compare his efforts with our Ramzan Bazars," he said, adding the service cannot be delivered through harassment but wisdom.
Elahi said the flour mills had been warned to ensure quality standard of Atta to avoid being blacklisted.
He said the bearers of Benazir Income Support Program's cards would be allowed a special discount at Utility Stores besides of patients of tuberculosis.
