LAHORE: Punjab government’s payables to Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) have jumped to Rs5 billion, Geo News reported.

According to sources, LESCO in a notice issued has warned Punjab government of disconnections if the dues were not cleared by August 31.

”This is a last warning to Punjab government, if they do not pay up, we will disconnect power supply to all the departments on September 1 without any further notice”, LESCO authorities said.

The water & sewerage, police, jail, local government, and other departments unpaid electricity bills have aggregated to Rs5 billion.
