MULTAN: Leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Makhdoom Jawed Hashmi said Tuesday that fair elections are very important and an interim government should be formed with the consultation of all parties.

Talking to the media from his residence in Multan, he said provincial and federal ruling parties are aligning to obstruct change and the evidence of the same is becoming visible with time.

He said both the major parties have finalized nominations for Caretaker Prime Minister's slot.

Hashmi accused both the parties of trying to snatch each other’s votes and maligning each other for bribing media anchor persons and columnists.

The provincial commission, he continued, has been made controversial and attempts being made to instigate a fight among people over formation of new provinces. "All this is done to cover up their own corruption," he alleged.

He concluded that all parties should be taken into confidence to form an interim government, which can organize free and fair elections, terming it mandatory for the betterment of the country.
