PESHAWAR: A bomb that could have spelt disaster for Peshawar was detonated in isolation averting possible deaths in Bara Sheikhan, Geo News reported.
According to sources, the police acted on information about a bomb lying at Bara Sheikhan area in the jurisdiction of the Badaber police station. A heavy contingent of police along with armoured vehicles arrived on the site, and detonated the bomb after clearing the area.
It is important to mention, that the police have resorted to detonating bombs in isolated areas (as opposed to defusing them), following incidents where terrorists lie in wait for the bomb disposal squad - to start its operation - before they detonate the explosives via remote control.
