Bodies of another 3 Gayari martyrs recovered: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Three more bodies of martyred soldiers were recovered from the Gayari sector in Siachen bringing the total number of bodies recovered so far to 97.

According to a spokesman of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) here, 140 soldiers, including some civilians, of 6 Northern Light Infantry Battalion came under a huge snow slide early Saturday morning (April 7, 2012) in the Gayari sector near Skardu.

Since then, over 300 soldiers and 50 engineering plants are employed at search operation.
