SARGODHA: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Friday said that that the previous governments were toppled after two or two and a half years, adding that the movement for the restoration of independent judiciary has proved that no martial law would be imposed in the country.
Addressing a ceremony held in Sargodha Bar, the chief justice said that the judiciary would continue its effort to restore justice and to provide relief to the masses.
He said that the lawyers movement led to the restoration of the judiciary and the fruits of independent judiciary should reach to the masses.
He said that the lawyers struggle had sent a message that neither martial law nor emergency would be imposed in the future.
