Plea against by-poll filed in LHC

LAHORE: An application was filed in the Lahore High Court on Friday, seeking orders against the by-election in various constituencies of Punjab.

The applicant prayed the court to declare the Election Commission’s notice, announcing schedule for by-election in Gujrat, Sahiwal, Jehlum and Sialkot, void since no by-poll could be conducted 120 days before the assemblies completed their terms.
