KARACHI: Two persons were killed and several others injured when a cylinder fitted into a mini-bus blew up with a loud blast at a CNG station on Abul Hassan Isfahani Road, Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Sunday morning here, Geo News reported.
The incident occurred when the CNG was being pumped into the mini-bus's cylinder while several other vehicles queued up at the CNG station after 24 hour suspension of gas supply.
One of the victims died on the spot, whereas a critically injured one, died later in the hospital.
One person was killed and many others sustained wounds as the impact of the blast destroyed two buses and a rickshaw while the structure of the CNG station was also badly damaged. Window panes of the surrounding buildings were also shattered.
The injured have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre where condition of some is said to be critical.
The police have started its routine investigation.
