Kayani, Khar arrive in Brussels

BRUSSELS: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez have arrived here in Brussels on two-day visit, Geo News reported.

They will meet NATO Secretary General Fogh Rasmussen and would discuss issues of mutual interest and matters related to the progress and prosperity of the country.

Hina Khar will address NATO Atlantic Council today. She will also address Foreign Relation Committee of European Parliament there.

Meanwhile, army chief will meet Political Security Committee of EU besides holding other vital meetings.

Reuters adds: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will also hold talks in Brussels on Monday with Pakistan's Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and its military chief General Ashfaq Kayani.

US officials say she will seek what Washington sees as an improving mood between Pakistan and its neighbor Afghanistan, where US-led forces are seeking to extricate themselves from a long and bloody war.
