Political parties’ leaders meet CEC in Karachi

KARACHI: Leaders of different political parties called on Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ibrahim separately and apprised him of their reservations regarding new voter lists and delimitations, Geo News reported.

Those who met the CEC also included Dr Farooq Sattar, Raza Haroon, Barrister Farogh Nasim and Kanwar Navid of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Jamat-I-Islamai Karachi chief Muhammad Hussain Mehnt and Jamiat Ulemai-e-Islam-Fazl leader Qari Muhammad Usman.

JUI-F and JI leaders held provincial Election Commissioner Sonu Khan Baloch responsible for flaws in electoral rolls and demanded of his removal.

MQM delegation sought action over use of automatic weapons and bogus voting during recently held by-elections.
