ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesman Muazzam Khan Thursday said relations with the US were improving and Pakistan was against the arms race in the region.

During a weekly news briefing, the spokesman added the Taliban had not requested to open an office in Pakistan.

Khan said there would be no issues over presence of foreign observers in the country during the forthcoming general elections.

He said that consultations with Iran were underway to fix the dates for President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to the neighbouring country.

India would be granted Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status soon, the spokesman added.
