Protesting doctors ‘face the music’ in Punjab

LAHORE: The Punjab government has stepped up action against the protesting young doctors, Geo News reported Wednesday.

As part of a disciplinary action, the government has stopped monthly stipends of 45 protesting post-graduate doctors while the provincial health department has sent a letter to the University of Health Sciences to cancel the courses of the medics.

In a statement, the department warned that the doctors who would now go on strike would be sacked from their jobs.

Sources told Geo News that lists have been compiled of those doctors who will now face transfers.
