JOHANNESBURG: Pakistan cricket team opener Tafiq Umer will be returning home from South Africa after injuring his calf during a practice session. The tour management has asked for Imran Farhat as his replacement.

Taufiq Umer who tore a calf muscle during a practice session before the warm up game in East London would not be able to recover in time to take further part in the series about to commence with the first test starting from February 1.

Even though his experience would be missed on the bouncy tracks in South Africa, it could be a blessing in disguise for Nasir Jamshed who is tipped to be included in the starting line-up for the first test.

If included in the final eleven Nasir Jamshed will be making his test debut after some consistence performances in the One-day format.

The tour management has requested for Imran farhat as Taufiq Umer’s replacement, who will be boarding a plane for South Africa in a couple of days.
