KARACHI: A meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of MQM in Pakistan and London and the Core Committee was held in order to discuss important issues, Geo News reported.

According to an official statement the meeting started in the evening and continued until late in the night. After the meeting, a meeting of the Core Committee was held in the light of the points agreed in the earlier meeting.

The meeting noted that Altaf Hussain, the founder leader of MQM, did his best to find solutions of issues and to allow the democratic process to continue after careful deliberations on important issues and by showing patience and restraint.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik played an active and positive in the dialogues held in the past five years for which the Co-ordination Committee is highly thankful to him, the statement added.

The Co-ordination Committee said it is necessary to mention here certain elements actuated by their prejudice adopted provocative attitude during the dialogues in order to break the alliance between the PPP and the MQM.

“MQM side, nevertheless, adopted soft attitude and showed patience in order not to compound existing problems.”

“When these prejudiced and chauvinistic members of the PPP did not change their attitude in meeting, the members of the Core Committee informed the MQM Co-ordination Committee and Hussain about the coldness of the PPP members and the uselessness of the dialogues.”

These meetings were nothing but sheer waste of time, as they did not produce any result, the statement added.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting that Altaf Hussain would not participate in any formal meeting with any PPP leader or any committee unless the members of both the committees arrive at a final decision on longstanding issues that relate to general public welfare.
