Karachi: Fire extinguished in Naval Police HQ

KARACHI: A major fire that broke out in a Naval Police Headquarters, located at Shahra e Faisal, has been extinguished in the wee hours of Sunday, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to ISPR, the fire broke out in a barrack but fortunately, no casualty was reported as the barrack was empty.

ISPR said that the incident took place in the area of the headquarters where there is a store, however, it added that cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained

ISPR also said that the personnel on duty informed about the incident to officials immediately.

Over 18 fire brigades and snorkels took part in extinguishing the fire, ISPR said, adding that the fire in the barrack has been overcome and cooling process is currently underway.

Meanwhile, emergency was also imposed in Jinnah hospital.
