Taliban detainees can be released after success in talks: Iftikhar

PESHAWAR: Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that release of Taliban detainees before dialogue is not possible under the law and constitution, Geo News reported.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Naushera-Charsadda road here Saturday, Mian Iftikhar said Taliban detainees could only be released as per the law of land after success in dialogue process.

He said all the arrangements had been made for All Parties Conference, adding it would bring positive results.

Mian Iftikhar welcomed US-Taliban talks in Qatar and said participation of Pakistan, Afghanistan and the US is essential negotiations with Taliban.
