KARACHI: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Friday approved the final chargesheet against the eight accused in Shahzeb Khan’s murder case, Geo News reported.
According to chargesheet, the gunshots fired by Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur resulted in the death of Shahzeb Khan.
During the course of hearing, the public prosecutor objected to the chargesheet saying it did not fall under the Anti-terrorism Act, but the court overruled the objection. The judge in the court remarked that the said case was admissible under the ATC act prima facie.
The Sindh police had filed the chargesheet on February 19. In the chargesheet, Shahrukh Jatoi, along with Siraj Talpur Sajjad Talpur, and their cook Ghulam Murtaza Lashari, were accused of murdering Khan, 20, over a minor dispute near Mubarak Masjid in the Defence Housing Authority on December 25.
The investigation officer had filed the chargesheet before ATC-III, Judge, Ghulam Mustafa Memon after completing the probe.
It said that four suspects, Shahrukh Jatoi, Siraj Talpur, Sajjad Talpur, and their cook Ghulam Murtaza Lashari, were under arrest whereas four others were fugitive. Those who were declared as absconders included Shahrukh’s brother Nawab Jatoi, Salman Jatoi, Asif Lund, Nawab Ali Jatoi and Khurram.
The chargesheet included the statements of the 53 witnesses including four eyewitnesses. The investigating officer informed the court that the passports of all absconding suspects were cancelled and that Interpol had been contacted over the issue.
