MARDAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Nawaz Shairf says unfortunately the government, which touts itself as people’s government, left the "people" high & dry at the end of its five-year term, Geo News reported.
“The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), at the helms of federal as well as three provincial governments, failed in delivering even a sense of security to the people of Pakistan let alone food, shelter, and clothes”, said Nawaz Shairf addressing a large public gathering here.
Nawaz said Karachi was being given a bloodbath everyday evident form the bombing massacres and targeted killings.
During the address, he vowed a prosperous as well as peaceful Pakistan, solution to Kashmir issue, and warmer terms with Afghanistan if PML-N came into power.
Decrying PPP’s political victimization, Nawaz said President Asif Ali Zardari imposed a governor rule in Punjab and had him and his brother Shahbaz Sharif disqualified by the Dogar courts, which was highly condemnable.
Retrospecting, he said a military dictator cut PML-N’s government short.
“Had our government not been overturned by a rogue general, we could have changed the face of Pakistan for the better by the end of our tenure”, said he.
