LAHORE: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Najam Sethi called on Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Munawar Hassan in Mansora, Lahore and discussed matters pertaining to upcoming general elections, Geo News reported.
Sources said Sethi’s purpose of meeting with JI Amir was to hold consultations over transfers of bureaucrats in the province ahead of the polls.
Talking to media after the meeting, caretaker chief minister said JI Amir had advised him to implement rules and regulations of the election commission.
Sethi said he had taken permission from the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) for transfer of bureaucrats, while decision pertaining to new IG Punjab would be made today (Thursday) in accordance with the Supreme Court orders.
He further said he would meet PML-N President Nawaz Sharif today (Thursday) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan on Friday.
