RO approves Sheikh Rasheed’s candidature

RAWALPINDI: Rejecting objections against nomination of Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for NA-55 Rawalpindi, the Returning Officer on Sunday approved him to contest the election.

Habib Wahabul Khairi, a citizen, objected to his nomination paper that Sheikh Rasheed declared him as a bachelor despite the fact that he secretly married to a woman Shahnaz in 1996 in Birmingham.

The RO said that complete scrutiny of Rasheed’s nomination papers was carried out during April 2 to 6 and no objection was raised during this period.
