KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement's chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday telephoned President Asif Ali Zardari and expressed grave concern over the kidnapping of Ali Haider Gilani, the candidate PS 200 Multan and son of former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
The MQM chief condemned the incident in strongest terms and called upon the relevant agencies to ensure safe recovery of Ali Gilani, Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said in a statement.
The MQM chief also expressed concern that the apprehensions voiced by democratic parties about the denial of level playing field to them, had not been heeded.
