Daharki: Passengers including women and children faced immense problems as Karachi-bound Awam Express halted at Daharki railway station due to engine failure on Monday.

The locomotive of the train developed some fault and it was halted at the station.

However, even after passage of 18 hours alternate engine could not be provided as rail traffic on one track also remained suspended and other trains including Taizgam, Khyber Mail and Nigh Coach stopped at different stations.

Passengers staged a protest demo, saying they face immense troubles as their stock of eatables and water already ended. They said children and women were suffering a lot due to intense heat.

After the protest of passengers, finally a substitute locomotive for the halted train was arranged from Rohri and all halted train resumed their remaining journey after agonizing wait of more than 18 hours .(PPI)
