KARACHI: Customs Intelligence has revealed that 3000 trucks of Afghan Transit Trade did not leave Karachi in 2010 and the goods were shifted to local godowns, Geo News reported.
According to the report received by Geo News, Federal Bureau of Revenue Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation has rejected departmental investigation of FBR in containers case and said custom officials were involved in corruption.
The intelligence has got evidence in the light of report issued by Supreme Court and Federal Tax Ombudsman in January 2010.
The investigation shows that missing trucks, loaded with Afghan Transit Trade containers, had never left Karachi and the goods were shifted to local godowns.
According to federal tax ombudsman investigation, around 7922 containers are missing during last four years.
