ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah Thursday said that the names, for the post of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman, would be recommended to the Prime Minister on his return from China, Geo News reported.
Shah said that PPP contacted opposition parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for developing a consensus on the appointment of chairman NAB, however, only ANP supported PPP on this matter while others had not contacted them yet.
He further said that they were struggling to take the opposition parties on board on this issue, adding that he would propose names for chairman NAB to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on his return from China.
It may be noted here that the prime minister is on official visit to China and the PML-N had finalized the names for NAB chairman slot.
