KARACHI: Jamat e Islami (JI) staged a demonstration to mark its protest over the 90-year sentence to its former Amir Professor Ghulam Azam in Bangladesh for his alleged involvement in 1971 war crimes.
The leaders and supporters of JI gathered outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) and gave vent to its ire over the sentence of its ex-Amir.
The demonstrators demanded of the Bangladesh government to annul the punishment handed down to Prof Ghulam Azam.
Addressing the participants of the protest rally maintained that the government of Hasina Wajid awarded the sentence by staging a drama and added that they would have to face defeat.
