ISLAMABAD: India's brazenly relentless violations of ceasefire on Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Jammu & Kashmir will take the center stage at Defence Committee of Cabinet's (DCC) meeting scheduled for today (Thursday), Geo News reported.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair the meeting of the committee constituted to bring the civilian government and the military on the same page with regard to core national issues.
This is the first ever sitting of the body since elections on May 11, 2013.
According to a report published on British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) website, the prime minister has sought a detailed briefing from the operational commander of the army regarding the incident that took place on August 6.
The BBC report also said that prime minister was interested in ascertaining facts about such incidents. Later, he would, accord approval to certain steps aimed at defusing tensions on the LoC, the report added.
The Afghan situation after the withdrawal of American forces would also be reviewed at length in the meeting.
