Policeman shot dead in Swabi

SWABI: A policeman guarding a polio team in Swabi was gunned down by unknown assailants while the other sustained injuries, Geo News reported Friday.

According to police, unidentified culprits opened fire on policemen - Iftikhar and Aijaz - who were on their way when they were attacked on Topi Road. As a result of firing, Aijaz was killed while Iftikhar received injuries. Both the policemen were tasked to guard a polio team, sources added.

After the incident, police surrounded the area and kicked off search operation to nab the attackers.
